Best Friends, Chuck Taylor and Trent got an interesting and possible scary message just prior to their memorable street fight with Santana and Ortiz on this past week's episode of Dynamite. Prior to going out and putting on an incredible bout that may go down as one of the matches of the year, the messaging sent to Chuck and Trent might have made a normal person fearful.

During an interview on Busted Open Radio, Santana and Ortiz were guests the day after that grueling match took place and were asked how they were feeling. Both said they weren't as bad off as they figured they might be going in, but were aware they'd gone through a pretty decent fight. But, both noted that "fight" is exactly the type of match they were going for.

The duo discussed how that match was put together and that everyone agreed it needed to feel real. Specifically, Santana said that match was not only a chance to prove both teams could hang in a main event slot, but was a way for him to get a lot of personal feelings out. Knowing that he was going to go into the match throwing bombs and making it look as real as possible, he said he warned his opponents.

He said he told Chuck and Trent that they were going to lay in some real shots and that they needed to "get their hands up or fight back, or they would get eaten alive." He said when he passed that message on in the locker room, you could see the faces of both opponents lose their color, realizing what they had just signed up for.

It All Worked Out Great

Santana said their opponents chose to fight back and the match worked out great. They knew right away they had done something special and so did the fans.

Sometimes, if something needs to look real, the easiest way to make it look real is to add an element of reality to it.
