Tickets for SummerSlam 2021 on Aug. 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada are reportedly selling fast.
On Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Jeffrey Harris of 411Mania) Observer Radio), Dave Meltzer reported that "a lot" of tickets were sold in the pre-sale period. Meltzer also noted that Allegiant Stadium, the venue of SummerSlam 2021, can sit about 41,000 fans with the current setup. Allegiant Stadium (home of the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders) has a capacity of 65,000 for football games.
Per Marc Middleton of Wrestling Inc.com, TicketMaster posted a capacity o f 41,661 for SummerSlam 2021. Going by the amount of tickets sold during the aforementioned pre-sale period, Middleton noted "it looks like SummerSlam will be sold out, or very close to it."
SummerSlam 2021 will be the first SummerSlam event to be held on a Saturday. This also marks the first time in which the event will be held in the state of Nevada. Las Vegas last hosted a WWE pay-per-view three years ago, Elimination Chamber on Feb. 25, 2018.
SummerSlam will mark the second pay-per-view on WWE's 25-city tour that will commence on July 16, when SmackDown runs at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The first will be Money in the Bank on July 18, set to take place at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. The 25-city tour will run through Labor Day.
Last year's event was held at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on Aug. 23 with no fans in attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first WWE pay-per-view to use the ThunderDome technology that debuted two days earlier on SmackDown.
SummerSlam 2021 Should Easily Sell Out
SummerSlam is one of WWE's four major pay-per-vies, along with WrestleMania, Survivor series and the Royal Rumble. Las Vegas is a marquee location for this year's show, and so SummerSlam should sell out relatively easily. The event will reportedly include a John Cena-Roman Reigns Universal Championship match, and that would be a can't-miss showdown. Needless to say, SummerSlam 2021 should be a thrilling and unforgettable show.
