Superstar Calls Out 'Indie Guys' For Taking Up Spots In NXT

NXT's Velveteen Dream has ruffled some feathers by criticizing the talent that WWE pulls from the independent scene and to add to NXT.

NXT is currently the hottest product under WWE’s umbrella, and it’s been that way for quite some time. Most of that success has come from independent stars like Kevin Steen, Prince Devitt, El Generico, Chris Hero, PAC, Shinsuke Nakamura and others, but if you follow along on Twitter, there’s one current NXT superstar who isn’t too happy about those indie guys taking up spots on NXT. It is social media of course, so unless the conversation is about Lio Rush, it is more than likely a work, and we believe it is again this time. But Velveteen Dream has just sent out this Tweet regarding independent guys in NXT:

After his interaction with Tyler Bate on WWE’s Youtube channel lately, this tweet is likely something that’s been organized behind the scenes. After the signings of Ricochet, EC3 and others as of late, it definitely makes some dream (no pun intended) matches a little closer to reality.

If it wasn’t a work however, and it was a shoot like some people online believe it to be, it makes complete sense that a guy like Dream would have a problem with all these indie guys. That's because he, like so many others, has worked hard for his spot whereas those independent guys are seemingly given their spot due to their work outside of the WWE.

Either way, it’s a very interesting tweet from The Velveteen Dream, and if it sets up matches against the likes of Donovan Dijak, Ricochet and EC3, I’m personally all for it. So what do you guys think? Is this a work or a shoot? Do you agree with the sentiment addressed in Dreams’ tweet? Who would you love to see him face as a result of this tweet? Let us know all your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
