Everson Griffen has had many highly concerned for his mental health, that's why he was actually barred from practice until he got a professional evaluation.

According to MSN Sports, a series of bizarre events caught the eye of many. He's made comments about people attempting to kill him and even jumped out of an ambulance that was supposed that was transferring him to a hospital.

Now don't worry, officers did manage to convince Griffen to head down to the hospital after they tracked him down during the ambulance incident.

Officer Michael Kokesh had a meeting with Griffen's wife who mentioned that he left the house in the middle of the night to battle the demons in his head. During the short period of time that he was away from home, he texted his wife and mentioned suicide.

Griffen has also been exhibiting paranoid and rapid speech patterns, according to Les Pico, who's the Vikings executive director of player development. While speaking to Kokesh, he mentioned that he did not believe Griffen wanted to harm others of himself, which is good news because it can be hard to anticipate actions like that. He did, however, mention that when he met with Griffen in the Minneapolis hotel, the player created a disturbance and even threatened violence.

It's clear that he is going through something at the moment and it's possible that the situation is highly stressful, which might be the cause of these erratic situations like fearing that someone is going to shoot him.

Despite the bad publicity that he might be getting at the moment, there is some level of good news. The team is supporting him on every level, they're even trying to help out the family too since this can't be easy for anyone involved.

This is a good thing because it shows us that the owners and overall team do truly care about those they work with. It also shows us that they know the importance of mental health and how it can severely impact a player's ability to effectively do their part in a game.
