A Vince McMahon TV show looking back on how the chairman turned WWE into what it is today appears to be in the works.

Filmmakers Studio has issued a casting call for a new TV show all about Vince McMahon. The project, which is currently called No Chance: The Vince McMahon Story and The Rise of the New Wrestling World Order, is currently seeking out a host for the show. A director is already attached, and judging by its synopsis, which you can find at Backstage, WWE doesn't appear to be affiliated with the project.

The project is described as a review retrospective rather than a movie, and it's unclear in what light McMahon will be painted throughout. Most of it will seemingly take place throughout the late 1980s during a time when McMahon was buying up territories and strengthening WWE in the process. The synopsis claims McMahon used the art of the hustle to get this done, but also reads that he waged war on the territories during that time.

A number of filmmakers and TV producers are keen to create a project detailing McMahon's life. There have been rumors for a while now that a biopic on the chairman was in production, and that WWE was very much on board with the project. It was even hinted that Bradley Cooper would be playing the role of McMahon. While no reason has been revealed as to why, that project seems to have been shelved.

This might be why Filmmakers Studio has decided to push on with its own project if WWE does indeed have no stake in this new TV show. Not having WWE involved in a project like this comes with pros and cons. Having access to McMahon's mind when putting it together would be invaluable, not to mention the archive footage WWE has to offer. However, WWE not having the final say on what makes it into the show might paint a more interesting picture.

Take Dark Side of the Ring. The hugely successful docuseries has no affiliation with WWE, yet its third season kicked off this week via a Brian Pillman episode. Numerous wrestlers outside of WWE have helped put various episodes together, including Chris Jericho and Mick Foley. Perhaps The Vince McMahon Story will receive the same treatment.
