Vince McMahon tweeted a response to fans in attendance at NXT UK TakeOver who asked the chairman whether he was watching the show's main event.

It almost seems as if WWE can't go a week nowadays without making a little bit of history, whether it be good or bad. This weekend it did exactly that, and it was great. Two years on from the promotion crowning its first ever UK Champion, the British stars returned to the same building for NXT UK's first ever TakeOver event.

As Dunne did in Blackpool two years ago, The Bruiserweight main evented Saturday's TakeOver. This time though, he entered the match as champion. Not just any champion, but one who had held the UK Title for more than 600 days going into this match. However, the longest reigning champion of WWE's modern era faced perhaps his toughest test yet in Joe Coffey.

There were various times during the match where it did indeed look like Coffey was about to bring the curtain down on Dunne's reign. However, The Bruiserweight eventually made Coffey tap to retain the title. During the epic battle, the rowdy in-house fans began to chant directly to Vince McMahon. With both men down after an almost unbelievable bump to the outside, the crowd chanted "are you watching, are you watching, are you watching, Vince McMahon?"

Much to the surprise of the fans chanting it, and the rest of us to be honest, the boss responded. He obviously wasn't in attendance so couldn't surprise us by emerging from the back, but it turns out Mr. McMahon was watching the show after all. At least he claims he was. Shortly after the show came to an end, the WWE Chairman tweeted a photo of Dunne along with the caption "Yes, I watched #NXTUKTakeOver. Yes, it was awesome.

While some of you reading this might wonder what all the fuss is about since Mr. McMahon should be watching his company's product at all times, it is somewhat surprising that he tuned in. That's because, in 2018, there were rumors circulating that the chairman had never watched an episode of NXT. A worrying report if true. Either that rumor wasn't true, Mr. McMahon is lying about watching TakeOver, or the boss has an affinity for Dunne so tuned in for the first time on Saturday. All feasible scenarios if you ask us.
