Vince McMahon is reported to have had plans on changing WWE’s PPV schedule. According to FightFul Select, per WrestleTalk.com, the WWE chairman came up with the idea of shifting things around but ultimately thought the better of it.

The veteran promoter is known for making seemingly rash decisions from time to time, as well as flipping the script on everyone around him with little to zero notice. It would be unfair to claim he doesn’t know what he’s doing as WWE has continued being profitable over the years and managed to rake in record numbers while not accommodating fans for a year. Yet many of his choices are highly criticized.

We aren’t sure as to what led to the change of heart. He could have decided to keep the schedule as is on his own but there’s every chance of someone else talking him off the ledge. Either way, PPVs are going along as planned.

There’s been some news on SummerSlam being shifted to an earlier date than is customary over the last few days. However, it’s since been reported that the event will take place on August 22, though a location hasn’t been decided upon as yet.

The report claiming the PPV would be moved up also stated that three or four venues were under consideration. It’s expected that fans will be part of the show, with WrestleMania 37 marking the return of an audience to a WWE event last month.

Despite the weather’s best efforts, fans enjoyed two nights of WrestleMania in Tampa Florida, although it was reported that many of them left early on Night One and missed out on what was an incredible main event headlined by Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks.

Would anyone Be Up For That Change?

We can’t be sure how Vince’s idea for a different schedule might have worked out. Who knows? It might have been somewhat better. But fans who are used to the particular order of the year’s main events would have likely been irked.

As it stands, things are set to continue as they normally would, with Backlash set to take place this Sunday.
