Ever since he left to join AEW, Jon Moxley has wasted no time in taking shots at the WWE - namely it's creative team and chairman Vince McMahon.

Shortly after he debuted for AEW, Moxley said WWE's "creative process sucks...it's absolutely terrible," and that his goal was to show "that Vince's way sucks." Moxley also went on to say that his relationship with Vince was like "Mentos and coke."

Seth Rollins appeared on the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast and discussed some of the comments made by his long-time friend and Shield partner. Though Rollins said Moxley "can do what he wants," The Architect also said "it's a little presumptuous" for him "talk down about the company that gave him such an opportunity."

Interestingly, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News), suggested that it Vince actually instructed Rollins to go out and issue the strong response against Moxley's criticism.

Meltzter said Rollins has opted to step up as the leader in WWE, and that "his words are Vince's words." Meltzer then asked if Rollins is "just 100 percent in on the Kool-Aid or is he just doing his job?" Finally, the long-time wrestling journalist added that the Universal Champion is "not doing this on his own."

The WWE Universe was shocked to learn that Moxley decided not to sign a new contract with the company. His deal expired after WrestleMania 35, and Moxley's final appearance in WWE was at the The Shield's Final Chapter.

Moxley then debuted for AEW at its Double or Nothing event, where he attacked both Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. Moxley has also made appearances for the New Japan Pro-Wrestling promotion, where he's already experienced a good amount of success. It's safe to say he made the best decision in his career after years of receiving frustrating direction from WWE.

What This Means

It wouldn't be a surprise if Vince actually had Rollins go out to defend him and the WWE product. It's not Vince's thing to go out and respond to criticism from his former talents. And like Meltzer suggested, Rollins has taken on the leadership role in WWE - so he was obviously going to be Vince's choice to go out and respond to Moxley.
