The Undertaker faces an uncertain future in WWE and currently isn't in the plans for WrestleMania 35, and now it sounds like he's made his boss of nearly 30 years extremely unhappy.
The Deadman is set to appear at the Las Vegas Starrcast 2 convention, scheduled for May 25. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t WrestlingInc.com), Vince McMahon isn't happy with it, and the news had him "off."
In case that had you more worried about heat in the McMahon-Undertaker working relationship, Meltzer also noted that there aren't any scheduled plans for The Deadman at WrestleMania 35. Things can obviously change at the last minute, as they often do for 'Taker, but it is being speculated that he won't be competing at all this year.
Thus far in 2019, Undertaker has had numerous public appearances out of the WWE - and one of them that was planned in Virginia got cancelled. But his decision to appear at Starrcast 2 is the one that is irking his boss, and it'll be interesting to see if this will affect WWE's plans for Undertaker at WrestleMania.
Meltzer has also recently suggested that The Undertaker might already be retired, considering that he isn't in the plans for WrestleMania 35 or the next show in Saudi Arabia. But again, things can change with The Deadman at any given point.
But even if Vince isn't happy with The Undertaker, fans should take this news lightly. The two have had a strong working relationship for three decades now, and the two have butted heads numerous times. McMahon isn't going to suddenly turn his back on the most loyal and respected superstar he's ever had.
What This Means
It's obviously unusual for The Undertaker to make non-WWE appearances, especially if his boss isn't going to be happy about them. Perhaps The Undertaker is ready to move on from WWE and is doing what he wants now. We'll just have to wait and see how this plays out, especially with WrestleMania 35 nearing.
