John Cena has one of the most unique and awe-inspiring physical appearances of any WWE Superstar. A natural bodybuilder from an early age, he's been a physical specimen since he debuted and his physique hasn't changed much in over 20 years. That physique has often been questioned by some important decisionmakers along his path to success, including Bruce Prichard and Vince McMahon.

During the most recent episode of Something Else to Wrestle With, Prichard told the story of Vince seeing Cena for the first time. It was a viewing that didn't go quite as planned when Bruce believed he was set to introduce Cena as the next big star in wrestling. In fact, at first glance, Vince didn't think John Cena at first was going to make it.

Host Conrad Thompson asked Prichard to share what Vince thought of Cena when he first laid eyes on him. Prichard said, "I'll give you Vince's exact quote the first time he saw John Cena, which was backstage, I believe at Staples Center... and Vince came up to me and said 'Get the walking billboard for steroids out of my backstage area' and pointed at John." Obviously, that was not the reaction Bruce was hoping for.

That said, Bruce probably wasn't too caught off guard by the reaction as earlier in the show he'd mentioned meeting Cena himself for the first time in the late 90s at the Roxy Nightclub in Hollywood, California. He described the encounter as seing a big hulking mass shaking Cena's hand and telling Cena to "get off the gas kid"; a comment Cena held onto for many years and was actually quite offended by.

Of course, when Vince saw Cena, Prichard knew that Cena was a natural bodybuilder that was much different than first impressions might suggest. Bruce told Vince, "uh, we just signed him. And, as a matter of fact, he's already taken his drug test and come back 100% clean. He's on the roster.' Bruce said when Vince heard that his attitude changed completely. "Well damn! Let me meet him!"

Vince was all ears once he knew Cena had the look he liked and was completely clean. From that point on, Cena was on the fast track to stardom.
