Monday night was the first Raw post-Lesnar's reign as Universal Champion. For many, it felt like a relief. Outside of celebrating Rousey's win, an Ambrose return match and Kurt Angle being sent on vacation, what did removing the part-time champion mean for the fallout show? Apparently a whole lot.

Fans got an unexpected reunion as Braun Strowman tried to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and perhaps the jury is still out on how this will go, even though the initial fan response seems overwhelmingly positive.

There was plenty of good on Raw with a variety of bad or nonsensical. Here are your winners and losers for Raw, August 20, 2018.

Winner/Loser: Baron Corbin

Corbin's win here is the fans loss. First, we're seeing far too much of Corbin on WWE programming. A character that was not really over in the first place is now in nearly every segment and on Monday was given the role as "acting general manager". He's wrestling matches, bossing people around and while this is a huge gift for Corbin by WWE, it's almost too much Corbin to take.

His match with Lashley, for example, could have been a quick squash like what WWE offered when the Demon King took him out Sunday. Why that didn't happen is hard to explain but WWE seems fit to want fans to dislike him simply by cramming him down their collective throats.

Loser: Triple H

What was the point of Triple H's promo? More than two months out from a match the WWE Universe has seen before and a match that is nothing more than a one-time spectacle for an international audience, fans were forced to sit through an Undertaker/Triple H promo touting how special their "legendary contest" will be followed by a long-winded Triple H promo about both he and the Undertaker coming "out of retirement".

The crazy part is Triple H made it sound as though neither guy had wrestled since Undertaker stuck his hat in the ring and walked away. Only, he didn't walk away. He's been back a couple times since and so has Triple H.

That promo was completely unnecessary. As a side note, loving Triple H as the father of NXT is way more fun when he's not seeking for the accolades.

Winner: The Shield

It's hard to be 100 percent sold on the idea of reuniting The Shield because it's hard to know what it means for Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, but it was unexpected and a turn that means Braun Strowman has real adversaries for the first time. This is especially interesting if WWE chooses to turn these guys heel.

The decision to bring them back did make for a few minutes of fun on television. It was a reminder of some of the shocking moments of the Monday Night Wars when you never knew how a show might end and that alone made it a winner.

Loser: Ronda Rousey Celebration

via wwe.com

If WWE meant to endear Rousey to the rest of the Women's Division by having a celebration that included all the female competitors, then this segment served that purpose. If it was meant to further any storyline or do more than revisit an old feud that will go nowhere, then it was a waste of time.

Rousey and Stephanie is not something fans really care to see any more. It's been proven that it doesn't register for fans on the same level Mr. McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin did. There was really no need to include Stephanie in this.

So too, this whole breaking arms thing is getting silly. If she were actually breaking arms, it shouldn't be treated as something she does every week. It should be few and far between, save for emphasis. Now Rousey is doing it to everyone just for fun. The move is losing steam quickly.
