With the Washington Wizards in free-falling mode, it appears as though the front office is ready for a full-scale rebuild - even if it means moving out their two best players.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wizards are giving "teams an impression" that all their players are available  via trade- including All-Stars John Wall and Bradley Beal.

Wojnarowski added that the front office would rather try building around the two stars, "but poor play among key teammates is limiting their trade value" and thus hurting Washington's chances of making "meaningful changes."

The Wizards sit at a horrible 5-11 on the season, and their playoff hopes are dwindling more and more by the day. The offseason addition of former All-Star center Dwight Howard hasn't done anything to fix the Wizards, and reports indicate that head coach Scott Brooks is safe for now.

Observers have also noted that Wall - widely regarded as the fastest point guard in the NBA - has been slowed by knee surgery that he had to undergo in the midst of the 2017-18 season.

He turns 29 next year, and only signed a four-year, $170 million extension in the 2017 offseason. So trading Wall is going to be extremely difficult, especially with most playoff/championship contenders already employing All-Star point guards.

Wojnarowski adds that Beal - three years younger than Wall and a less lucrative contract - might have more value on the trade market.

What This Means

The Wizards have fallen quickly, to put it mildly. They won 49 games in 2016-17 and fell just one game short of reaching the Eastern Conference Finals. What followed was a mere 43-win season in 2017-18, and Washington lost to the Toronto Raptors in the opening round of the playoffs.

Washington doesn't have the cap space nor assets to add another superstar to help out Wall and Beal, so trading them away might be the only solution. This team is nowhere close to contending in the Eastern Conference, and they could get some quality returns for both stars.

We'll see if the Wizards can turn it around quickly and make a charge at the playoffs. That would certainly have ownership and management reconsider trading out their two best players.
