WrestleMania 34 is in the books and it will go down as one of the stronger, more unpredictable WrestleMania's in some time. There were unexpected swerves, squashes, lengthy matches and title changes and retentions that few saw coming. There will never be a time that every fan agrees with every decision, but this may go down as the WrestleMania were more members of the WWE Universe left divided than ever before.

In an effort to try and explain some of the interesting choices made at this pay-per-view, we're going to take a look at some of the more shocking surprise twists to come out of the show. Looking at both sides, we feel like these are the strangest decisions WWE could have made and hopefully, the Raw and SmackDown Live programs this week will better explain why these decisions were made.

Here are the strangest decisions to come out of WrestleMania 34.

Asuka's Undefeated Streak Ends

There is going to be a ton of mixed reaction to the decision to end Asuka's undefeated streak, but right now it appears most people are not liking this call by WWE. Asuka's streak was one of the more unique things going on in the company and many felt she would ultimately face off with Ronda Rousey pitting the Baddest Woman on the Planet vs. The Undefeated Empress of Tomorrow. That match is still possible, but the stakes won't be the same.

Other's might ask who else was fit to take this streak away from Asuka if not Charlotte? It would have been a long time before Asuka and Rousey met in the ring and could WWE really have maintained that long a streak without alienating and weakening the rest of the Women's Division?

John Cena Gets Squashed

via wwe.com

People expected The Undertaker's return. But, did people expect him to come back and absolutely destroy John Cena in a match that wasn't even a contest? Cena put up absolutely no offense and The Undertaker dispatched of him after a few minutes, making it look like The Undertaker of old was back, but that Cena no longer had it.

Sure, The Undertaker needed to be built up again and Cena isn't going to be around much but, outside of the fact Cena did a huge solid for a WWE Legend, is there an upside for him here? He may have cost himself that 17th Championship, he's suffered six major consecutive losses and it's going to be hard to believe he can compete in today's WWE now.

Strowman Picks 10-Year-Old Nicholas For His Partner

Via WWE.com

There could have been so many ways WWE went with the Strowman mystery partner that to choose a 10-year-old boy from the crowd seems to be the least likely of them. This is very much a feel-good story where WWE "made a young boy's dream come true" but we've now learned the young man is WWE referee Jon Cone's son and this was all set instead of choosing a returning star.

This means there will be a ton of storyline trying to explain where WWE goes next. Can a 10-year-old even hold the title? Is that allowed? How will he lose it? Was this a record WWE really should have considered breaking and is the idea of a feel-good moment worth potentially hurting the look of the Raw Tag Team Division?

Nakamura Turns Heel

via cagesideseats.com

After an epic dream match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, WWE decided to turn Nakamura heel. One of the most popular stars on SmackDown Live is now a bad guy WWE wants fans to boo and to some, this is a strange decision.

Why make the brand's top babyface a bad guy? Is he no longer considered the top babyface? Is Daniel Bryan that guy now? Is Styles not leaving? Did SmackDown Live need a new lead heel since Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn lost?

Lesnar Retains Universal Title

If you took a poll, it would likely have shown less than 1 percent of people watching WrestleMania expected Lesnar to walk away still the Universal Champion. He was rumored to be leaving WWE, Reigns was the groomed "golden boy" and fans were turning on Lesnar. With all that in mind, WWE kept the title on him and opened things up for a million questions.

Is Lesnar not leaving? Is Reigns in the doghouse? Why did the match finish the way it did and was booked the way it was?
