Bret Hart unveiled AEW's World Title at Double Or Nothing, but apparently, that spot was originally intended for Ric Flair.

There were an awful lot of memorable moments during Double Or Nothing. Cody versus Dustin, the return of Awesome Kong, the arrival of Jon Moxley, it's hard to pick a favorite. However, one of the best segments was definitely the reveal of the AEW World Title. A great looking championship which will be fought over for the first time by Hangman Page and Chris Jericho.

The title unveiling also came with an extra surprise. Bret Hart. Very few fans will have expected to see The Hitman show up at Double Or Nothing. The WWE Hall Of Famer got one of the biggest reactions of the entire night. As big names in the wrestling business go, you'll be hard pushed to find someone better than Hart to unveil a World Title for you.

Turns out one of the few names bigger than Hart in wrestling was actually meant to be at the center of that prestigious moment. At least according to Wrestling News. The site reported that AEW had originally hired Ric Flair to unveil their top prize to the world. However, due to medical issues, he did not travel to Las Vegas over the weekend.

The Nature Boy went into hospital for a procedure last Monday and decided it wouldn't be a good idea to travel so soon after. Not only did that alter AEW's plans, but it also meant the Roast of Ric Flair at Starrcast had to be canceled, or at least postponed. In our opinion, that's an event that is big enough to do all by itself.

While it's a shame that Flair couldn't be in Las Vegas this past weekend, no fan will have wanted him to make the trip at the expense of his health. The roast will still happen down the road, and Hart unveiling the title made for an equally massive moment. Plus, whether it was Hart or Flair, both of those guys being linked with AEW will have sent an extra shockwave through WWE.
