WWE has announced the first wave of Superstars that will be featured on WWE 2K19 and there are already an awful lot of names.

Just like every other popular sport, WWE releases a new video game every single year. In the past, the games were created and developed by THQ but nowadays it's 2K doing all the work, the same company that's behind the annual NBA games. The release of this year's installment, WWE 2K19 is fast approaching and we already know a few things about what to expect.

The first news we heard was that AJ Styles will be this year's cover star, hard to argue with that. Next up was that showcase mode will be making a welcome return. It has been featured on WWE games in the past and lets you play through famous moments and matches from a particular time period in wrestling history. On WWE 2K19 it will allow you to play through the milestones of Daniel Bryan's career, so pretty cool.

An annual tradition for WWE 2K, however, is the annual, and gradual, roster reveal. The first installment of that reveal took place on Thursday and it was a big one with a whopping 75 Superstars announced for the upcoming game which will be released on October 5, 2018. There are obviously too many Superstars to list here but you can check out the entire reveal in the video below.

As you might imagine, most of the Superstars announced were to be expected. The likes of Rusev, Heath Slater, Dolph Ziggler and so on. What's exciting are the names that will be making their video game debuts. NXT's Bianca Belair has made the cut this time around, as has Adam Cole and the rest of the Undisputed ERA along with a number of other Full Sail debutants. Interestingly, Brock Lesnar will also be featured on WWE 2K19 despite the fact that he is presumably not with WWE right now as he preps for a return to UFC.

With each passing year WWE and 2K try to make their games bigger and better, and judging by this initial announcement, WWE 2K19 is going to be no different. With 75 Superstars revealed to be in the game right off the bat, it's probably safe to assume that there will be at least 150 playable characters in the latest iteration of the game and that it will once again be the biggest roster in the history of wrestling video games.
