Monday night, WWE announced on Raw there will be an all-female Battle Royal match at Evolution. They used a segment of the show to showcase a match that included Tamina, Nia Jax, Ember Moon, and others.

WWE used both social media and the night's broadcast to make official what many people knew was probably coming in the form of a Battle Royal match. An over-the-top contest is easily the quickest way to get 20 women on the card and from the start, WWE was touting they'd have over 50 female competitors taking part in the Evolution event.

Among the names included in the social media tweet was Tamina — who not coincidentally made her return to Raw — Ember Moon, The Iiconics, Alicia Fox, Nia Jax, and Dana Brooke. WWE also said during the show that Lana, Asuka, Naomi, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Carmella, and Torrie Wilson would take part. Dana Brooke happened to be the last woman standing on Raw when a match took place to promote the contest.

Wilson is by far the most interesting of the announcements considering she's not an active performer in WWE. Fans last saw her during the Royal Rumble match that also included former female WWE Superstars and she'll now be added the event with Hall of Famers like Trish Stratus, Lita and others who will be making their WWE returns.

Unlike Trish and Lita who will take part in a match versus Mickie James and Alexa Bliss, Wilson is the first legend announced for the Battle Royal and she opens the door to other female legends taking part. Could WWE invite Molly Holly, Michelle McCool, Eve Torres or even someone like Eva Marie?

It will be interesting to see who else gets announced by WWE in the coming days. Evolution will take place on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
