WWE has confirmed that NXT will move to the USA Network this September. The show will air live and be expanded to two hours per week.

The wrestling world is currently preparing itself for what will be one of the biggest weeks in its history. We are, of course, referring to the first week in October. On October 2, AEW's weekly TV show will debut on TNT. Two days later, SmackDown will move to Fridays on FOX. Plus, that first SmackDown on FOX will be the blue brand's 20th-anniversary show.

On top of all that, there have been rumblings that NXT would also be undergoing some major changes very soon. Those rumors started with the suggestion that FOX might well have acquired rights to the black and gold brand as well as SmackDown. Those murmurings changed, and now WWE has confirmed the truth. NXT's weekly show is moving, but not to FOX.

WWE revealed via a press release that starting from September 18, 2019, NXT will air live on the USA Network. Until now, the shows have been taped and been shown at a later date on the WWE Network. What's more, NXT will expand to two hours rather than just one. WWE might deny it, but it's hard to think this isn't a reaction to AEW planting a flag in Wednesday nights.

This means NXT will be airing live on USA for the same two-hour slot that AEW will be showing on TNT. So it seems as if the Wednesday Night War is about to begin. NXT will be getting a two-week headstart on its new rival too, which we would also hazard to guess is no accident. Nevertheless, it seems as if The Young Bucks' Nick Jackson welcomes the competition.

Jackson quoted a tweet breaking the news about the NXT move and simply wrote, "we're not scared." Neither should they be. It has been so far so good for AEW. Plus, ticket sales for its first three weekly shows have proved that there is a lot of interest in the shows. People have been quick to say this is not a war between AEW and WWE. Well, following this move, it is incredibly hard to continue to say that a battle is not about to begin.
