As seen on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, The Shield defeated Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre in the main event - and the loss led to some tension for the recently formed alliance.

Strowman confronted Ziggler after the loss and hit 'The Showoff' with his running Powerslam finisher. McIntyre came to his friend's defense and attacked Strowman with his signature Claymore maneuver.

But don't think just yet that the group is disbanding. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the group may wind up staying together after all:

"The stuff with Strowman, McIntyre and Ziggler is stuff Vince and the writers are coming up with weekly with no end game. We’re not even sure if the end of Raw was to set up Strowman vs. McIntyre now, or it’ll be one of those heels break up and the next week they’re back together things that they do."

Meltzer also noted that WWE is "very much into protecting McIntyre," as they want him to eventually move up to being one of the top singles competitors. Thus, it may not make much sense for WWE to break up the trio just yet.

via 411Mania

Prior to his Hell in a Cell Universal Championship match with Roman Reigns, Strowman aligned himself with Ziggler and McIntyre to feud with the Shield and pull off another heel turn.

Ziggler, McIntyre and Strowman also lost to The Shield at the Superstar Show-Down pay-per-view in Australia. WWE has teased a Dean Ambrose heel turn in storyline, as he continues to display friction with his counterparts, while Ziggler has tried recruiting him to join their stable.

Strowman and Brock Lesnar will challenge Reigns for his Universal title at the upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia. It's extremely unlikely the part-timer Lesnar will regain the title, but if Strowman can steal it from Reigns, it shouldn't be a surprise if he eventually disbands from Ziggler and McIntyre.

Keep in mind that Jinder Mahal attacked the Singh brothers after losing a match last year, but they stood by his side anyway. Strowman's confrontation with Ziggler and McIntyre could just be a tease about a breakup that won't actually happen.
