WWE's Evolution pay-per-view could be a yearly event if the fans want it to.

After a weekend of the WWE Universe buzzing with speculation, Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon along with Triple H were introduced in the beginning of the show by the Chairman, Vince McMahon. After Triple H thanked the wrestlers and fans for paving the way, Stephanie announced that on Oct. 28, 2018, the all-women's pay-per-view, named Evolution, will take place.

Following the announcement, Triple H was interviewed by Sky Sports, and shed some light on whether this will be an annual event. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H shared that it would be up to the fan response on whether this will go another year or not. If the fans are not as responsive, WWE can just state that Evolution can be classified as another history-making event to further promote the women's revolution.

The WON is also speculating that WWE could have made this announcement for the October event, as well as booked the event in New York, to gain momentum for the clash of promotions come WrestleMania 35 weekend.

The night prior to the grandest stage of them all, NXT is scheduled to occur inside the Barclays Center, while Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling is scheduled to have a joint event inside the Madison Square Garden. The history-making G1 Supercard ROH/NJPW show is generating a considerable amount of media buzz, especially since WWE has monopolized MSG since becoming a company.

While WWE is way ahead of other promotions from a global perspective, the competition is certainly heating up in 2018. New Japan is one of the hottest promotions right now with Kazuchika Okada as the person who led the company to spread independently to the United States, and Kenny Omega currently the top guy in the company while adding some Canadian flare to the North American market.

It is quite clear that WWE is noticing the competition increasing, and it would not be a surprise if WWE attempts to acquire Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks before April 2019.
