As time continues to move slower than it ever has done before, or at least that's how it feels, the next WWE PPV is finally on the horizon. It feels like Backlash happened six months ago when in reality, it was last month. This Sunday, WWE will stage Extreme Rules: The Horror Show. Or is it The Horror Show at Extreme Rules? The order of the words in the title has been reshuffled so many times that we have honestly lost track. Nevertheless, we are still looking forward to the show, and here are the Superstars we think will emerge victorious from it on Sunday night.

Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt in a Swamp Fight: Bray Wyatt

If you think Backlash feels like a long time ago, then the last time Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt did battle probably seems like a different lifetime. The two of them clashed at Money in the Bank, and this rivalry has been ticking over ever since. At Extreme Rules, Strowman will venture into Wyatt's swamp, and he doesn't seem nearly as afraid as he should do. The scariest thing about the match for Strowman should be that his title isn't on the line. For us, that points to an almost guaranteed Wyatt win.

Bayley vs. Nikki Cross for the SmackDown Women's Championship: Nikki Cross

via WWE

Who would have ever thought when watching Bayley in NXT that she would make such a terrific heel? Yet here we are. Bayley is unbearable as a double champion, which is exactly what she is trying to be. We're sure even Sasha Banks would admit that if whoever was listening could guarantee that Bayley Dos Straps would never find out. Speaking of that obnoxious self-imposed nickname, this week's SmackDown could be the last chance Bayley has to use it. We can see dos straps becoming uno at the hands of Nikki Cross at Extreme Rules.

Sasha Banks vs. Asuka for the Raw Women's Championship: Asuka: Asuka

via WWE

Banks has her own opportunity to make uno strap dos when she takes on Asuka for the Raw Women's Title. Our best guess would be that Banks and Bayley's friendship will come to a head at SummerSlam, and Extreme Rules will be where the cracks really begin to show. Bayley will blame her title loss on Banks, and in turn, The Boss will claim Bayley was at fault for her loss to Asuka. Thus begins the build to what could well be the very best match of the summer.

Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre

via WWE

No offense meant to Dolph Ziggler, but none of the titles on the line at Extreme Rules are at a lower risk of changing hands than the WWE Title. Drew McIntyre will defend the championship against his former tag team partner on Sunday, but as is often the case with Ziggler, this very much feels like a filler feud. WWE knows Ziggler can put on a good match with anyone, and we have no doubt this will be worth our time. However, The Scottish Psychopath will almost definitely leave with his title reign intact.

Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins in an Eye for an Eye Match: Seth Rollins

via WWE

And the reward for the weirdest match stipulation of 2020 goes to! Yep, Seth Rollins versus Rey Mysterio, and despite the weird and wonderful things we have seen in wrestling so far this year, it's not even close. When Mysterio won the right to pick the stipulation for this one, he opted for an Eye for an Eye Match. To win, one man must remove one of his opponent's eyes from its socket. Since Mysterio can appear with one of the eyes on his mask blacked out for the rest of his career, we can't see how Rollins doesn't win this one.

Apollo Crews vs. MVP for the United States Championship: MVP

via WWE

MVP unveiled a brand new United States Title during the build to this one, and since current champion Apollo Crews wasn't around, he awarded it to himself. Sorry buddy, but that's not how this works. The good news is we think the odds of MVP officially becoming US Champion for the third time in his career at Extreme Rules are high. We can then see Bobby Lashley taking it from him down the line. MVP is supposed to be Lashley's manager, and it's only a matter of time before the latter gets fed up with it feeling like their relationship is reversed.
