The final PPV before WrestleMania is almost upon us. WWE Fastlane. The show that will likely set up most of WWE's angles and storylines heading into WrestleMania. Watch all of the action unfold this Sunday (March 10, 2019) at 7 pm EST, or 6 pm EST if you want to catch the kickoff show, live on the WWE Network.
Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens for the WWE Championship
Don't get us wrong, we are all for Kevin Owens getting a WWE Title shot. However, what is WWE doing here? We sincerely hope that Kofi Kingston's removal from this match is a part of some master plan. KO is playing a babyface here and seems almost embarrassed to have received his title shot the way that he did. We are thoroughly looking forward to this match, but we hope it leads to Owens and Daniel Bryan tangling up with Kingston at WrestleMania.
Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch
The WWE Title shot might have top billing on WWE.com, but this is the real main event. The angle between these two Superstars and Ronda Rousey is riddled with plotholes, but it has been so good to watch that none of us really care. If Becky Lynch beats Charlotte Flair at Fastlane, she will be added to the Raw Women's Title match at WrestleMania. It's not the one on one between Rousey and Lynch that we originally wanted, but we are just happy that The Man will be a part of the proceedings.
The Shield vs Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, and Bobby Lashley
Roman Reigns is back and at Fastlane, he will wrestle for the first time in almost five months. Not only that, but he will do it alongside his Shield brothers Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Make the most of it because this could well be the last time we ever see The Shield perform together. WWE won't be able to reunite them over and over once Ambrose has left. We have a sneaky feeling that The Lunatic will ruin what could be the trio's last ever match together this Sunday.
The Usos vs Shane McMahon and The Miz for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships
The odd couple pairing of The Miz and Shane McMahon has been, well, odd. Miz seems to be obsessed with impressing his father who will be at ringside at Fastlane as The Awesome One competes for the Tag Titles in his hometown. Much like a lot of what will happen on Sunday, we fully expect this match to begin a WrestleMania build. It isn't a WrestleMania without a McMahon on the card, right? Perhaps Shane O Mac will be performing a coast to coast on the man he currently calls his tag partner in less than a month's time.
Bayley and Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax and Tamina for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships
We honestly thought that the brand new Women's Tag Titles would have had more of a spotlight since Elimination Chamber. That has not really been the case. While Bayley and Sasha Banks have appeared on NXT with the titles, there has been pretty much no mention of them on SmackDown Live. They are meant to be up for grabs across all three brands. Nevertheless, they have a spot at Fastlane. Nia Jax and Tamina will be the first ones to get a shot at toppling The Boss 'N' Hug Connection.
Asuka vs Mandy Rose for the SmackDown Women's Championship
There has been a lot of focus on the Raw Women's Title heading into Fastlane despite it not having a place on the show. Meanwhile, WWE believes that the only viable candidate left on the blue brand to face Asuka is Mandy Rose. No offense to Rose but that is not exactly great news. We hope WWE has a more suitable opponent lined up for The Empress at WrestleMania, providing she makes it past Rose this Sunday.
The Revival vs Aleister Black and Ricochet vs Chad Gable and Bobby Roode for the Raw Tag Team Championships
Despite the talent crammed into this match, it is likely one that is being overlooked by most fans heading into Fastlane. The match feels a little forced, especially since Aleister Black and Ricochet are a brand new makeshift team that has only just arrived on the main roster. Give those two stars the Raw Tag Team Titles and you might well have our attention. Although WWE may run the risk of Dash and Dawson walking right out the door if they do that. You know, if the rumor and innuendo is true.
Rey Mysterio vs Andrade
At the beginning of the year, we had dreams of this match stealing WrestleMania. More fool us, right? It has happened a number of times already on SmackDown Live and the two luchadors have proved time and time again that the bout is WrestleMania worthy. However, in the eyes of WWE creative, it doesn't even warrant a spot on the Fastlane card. Rey Mysterio and Andrade will compete on the kickoff show while the crowd is still filing into the building.
