WrestleMania 35 is only a few weeks away now, but WWE has only confirmed five matches on the card thus far - and two of them were announced on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw.

Fans may be wondering what the delay is in some of these match announcements, but there is an interesting reason for the holdup. According to Felix Upton of Ringside News, WWE is still figuring out the rest of the card backstage, so most of the matches are still being discussed.

Upton noted that Roman Reigns' recent return, the series of NXT call-ups and a big push for Kofi Kingston have put WWE in a position where they're in the midst of "still trying to work things out."

Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship has been known for a while now. The Architect won the men's Royal Rumble and announced his plans to challenge Lesnar shortly after.

Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey will compete for the Raw Women's Championship in a triple threat match. The bout was only finalized on Sunday, when Lynch defeated Flair to officially earn her spot. Meanwhile, Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy is also set to defend his title, but there's a tournament in place on the 205 Live brand to determine the challenger.

Kurt Angle revealed his plans to retire from in-ring competition after WrestleMania 35, but his opponent has yet to be announced. And finally, Triple H accepted Batista's challenge for a bout at WrestleMania 35. The Animal announced it would be his last WWE match, and he wanted it to be on his "terms."

What This Means

Reigns, John Cena, The Undertaker and WWE Champion Daniel Bryan are among the major names that also need challengers. We can also assume that every title belt - or at least the majority - will be defended here. There is plenty of work to be done in finalizing the card, but WWE is running short on time to build up the matches. We shouldn't have to wait long to find out what the rest of the card will be, as WrestleMania 35 draws closer.
