Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were 'fired' on SmackDown Live this week and it seems WWE creative are going all in with the angle.

Despite the many segments that were featured on SmackDown Live this week there was only one real talking point on the show. Daniel Bryan has finally been cleared to wrestle again by WWE, a day that most of us thought would never come, and the former World Champion opened the show on Tuesday night with an emotional promo describing his two-year journey.

While Bryan's return was what had fans talking going into the show it was a beat down of epic proportions that had them talking two hours later. The SmackDown Live General manager closed the show also and during the final segment he 'fired' Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for their attack on Shane McMahon last week. Suffice to say, the two hot-headed Canadians didn't take to kindly to the news.

Zayn and Owens proceeded to beat down Bryan and give the impression that they have put the returning Superstars right back on the shelf. The attack ended with a patented pop-up powerbomb on to the apron by Owens and Bryan leaving the arena on a stretcher. While it may have felt good to do that what it doesn't change is the fact that the two of them were fired moments earlier.

The WWE creative team is really playing the angle up too. So far, it has been assumed that when a WrestleMania match has a graphic it's set in stone. Well, the Owens versus Zayn graphic has now been removed from the WrestleMania line-up. Not only that but the pair's profiles have also been removed from WWE.com just like the company would do to someone who had actually been fired.

The WWE Universe has been wondering where exactly this angle was going and it seems like now we know. The general consensus is that Owens and Zayn will return at WrestleMania so that they can take on Bryan and Shane-O 'Mac in a tag team match at WrestleMania. What's for certain is finally this angle is interesting thanks to the return of Bryan and now it feels as if it is actually going somewhere.
