Seth Rollins has been pushed as the top male babyface on Monday Night Raw here in 2019, but it doesn't seem like WWE is fully content with his status.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News), WWE has been "desperately" trying to make The Architect look cool. That would explain the many different segments and storylines WWE has tried on Rollins ever since he became Universal Champion at WrestleMania 35.

Rollins' main event push began after he won the men's Royal Rumble event back in January. He opted to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at 'Mania, which he won in convincing fashion.

And ever since he took down Lesnar, Rollins has been party of many creative programs. WWE decided to pair him with real-life girlfriend and Raw Women's Champion, Becky Lynch, in matches. The duo went up against Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans at Extreme Rules, and the stipulation was that if Lynch and Rollins had lost, they would drop their championships.

Although Rollins and Lynch emerged victorious, Lesnar would spoil the party by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract, capturing the Universal Championship once again. Rollins won a 10-man battle royal to determine the No. 1 contender for Lesnar's title at SummerSlam, setting up another match between the two stars.

On this week's episode of Raw, Lesnar brutally attacked Rollins and sent him off on a stretcher. Before the latter could be taken away by ambulance, Lesnar continued his assault on Rollins, hitting him with an F-5 on the stretcher. Rollins was left coughing out blood as officials tended to him. We'll see what happens next week on Raw - the final episode until the two meet at SummerSlam.

What This Means

Rollins is already over with the WWE Universe, but it never hurts to try and push his stock and overall status even more. With plenty of resilience, toughness, leadership, in-ring and microphone skills, Rollins has all the tools to be the long-term face of WWE.
