WWE Is Open To Working With NJPW Under The Right Circumstances

Triple H has said that the WWE is open to hosting a cross-promotion event with New Japan Pro Wrestling in the future.

The company's Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events, and Creative was speaking to UK news outlet The Sun regarding the subject of collaboration with other promotions and he indicated that he is open to anything as long as it makes sense for the WWE.

NJPW is currently one of the hottest promotions out there and the emergence of stars such as Kenny Omega, as well as the enlistment of WWE icon Chris Jericho, has seen their popularity soar in recent times.

Omega, who recently defeated Kazuchika Okada at Dominion to become the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, is one of the most popular stars in wrestling today, despite not being involved with the WWE. But he has previously talked up competing in a cross-promotional event, something Triple H has revealed his company wouldn't be averse to.

"We are open to doing things with anybody or anything," The Game told The Sun.

"We have an alliance with PROGRESS in the UK, a situation with ICW in Scotland, two very well run and respected promotions that do good business— but more importantly they are cultivating talent.

"They are not just exploiting talent and grabbing guys to do a show with them, they are teaching talent and trying to make them better, which is what it is all about for me.

"Is there opportunity for cross-promotional events? Absolutely, with the right things. It’s a blank slate and I’m open to just about anything if the right situation shows itself."

While Japan has made a name for itself as it relates to wrestling, recent years have seen British promotions stick their feet in the door and the likes of PROGRESS and ICW are continuously growing in popularity.

With The Game opening the door to these attractive possibilities, we could see a few fantasy matchups unfold in the near future. Of course, we don't want to get ahead of ourselves on that front, but just imagine how amazing it would be to see your favorite Raw and SmackDown Stars go head to head with the big names in NJPW!
