The WWE has no plans to move on with the Four Horsewomen rivalry, according to Dave Meltzer.

The promotion has been teasing an MMA Horsewomen vs WWE Horsewomen feud, with Ronda Rousey and her friends from her MMA faction, Marina Shafir, Shayna Baszler, and Jessamyn Duke, now all part of the WWE.

The quartet of Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Charlotte Flair also have a WWE Horsewomen thing of sorts going on, despite the issues between Flair and Lynch, and there was hope of a major storyline between the eight females.

Meltzer, though, has said that the WWE doesn't have any intentions of going forward with it, at least for the next two pay-per-views.

“Ronda actually cut a promo about the Horsewomen vs Horsewomen match. It was actually a good promo too," he said via Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News).

"Right now as far as between now and WrestleMania there is no plans for that. It can change, but there’s nothing now you know so I had asked specifically. I said, ‘it looks like they’re going that direction’ and Sasha really, really wants that especially and Ronda’s not opposed to it. You know those are her real friends, but it’s not in the cards the next two pay-per-views right now. It can change, but anyway.”

Rousey, who is set to battle Lynch in defense of her Raw Women's title at WrestleMania in April, apparently isn't for it either.

"Me and my friends, we were the Four Horsewomen before we came to WWE," she said after her Royal Rumble win over Banks on Sunday. "It wasn’t a gimmick or a marketing ploy, or you know, something to make us all more popular cause we’re aligned. It was like, this is real and it’s personal.

"This is our lives. And they’re taking something that’s near and dear to our hearts and just trying to package it and sell it to the masses - I mean they don’t even like each other, you know? I just don’t - I don’t know - it’s something so personal and near & dear to me & my friends.

"It just seems like - if they held the ‘4s’ up with the same regard that we do, I would have respect for that. But to them, this is nothing but marketing, they don’t have that bond that we have. It’s just for show. And this isn’t for show, this is for life for us.”

What This Means

Rousey clearly has a personal attachment here and she isn't keen on seeing it presented as a WWE gimmick.

As it stands, though, the company is said to be against pushing such a storyline, despite their consistent teasing, so there's not much for the former UFC superstar to worry about on that front.

There are more pressing concerns for her nowadays, having gotten booed during her promo on Raw this Monday. But it has been reported that Paul Heyman will be working closely with her during the coming days in order to help repair her standing with the fans.
