The WWE announced Sunday that Triple H and Johnny Saint revealed the brand new NXT UK Tag Team Championships at the taping in Plymouth.

Tapings for the NXT UK brand began in July, and the first episode will launch on WWE Network this Wednesday. The brand had already revealed the United Kingdom and the UK Women's Championships, so it was only a matter of time until they introduced the tag team championships.

In Dec. 2016, Triple H announced plans to hold a 16-man tournament to determine the first UK Champion, which would be won by Tyler Bate. Another tournament was held in June, where Zack Gibson would defeat Travis Banks in the tournament final, earning a title shot against Pete Dunne that he wound up losing.

Triple H and other WWE officials have done a phenomenal job quickly building up UK NXT brand, already having taken the NXT and 205 Live brands to new heights. Now that the UK brand has a trio of championships, the real fun begins.

It's anybody's guess which tag teams will be formed, and if it'll be another tournament format to determine the inaugural champions. No matter how it happens, though, it promises to be a thrilling buildup as the NXT UK brand continues to develop and put itself on the same level as NXT and 205 Live.

With Dunne holding the UK Championship, it's unlikely he'll take part in the chase for the tag team titles. James Drake, Tucker, Ashton Smith, Flash Morgan Webster and Travis Banks are among the top talents on the NXT UK roster that could challenge for the titles.

The first NXT UK television episode should draw massive reviews on the WWE Network this Wednesday. After all, how many fans wouldn't want to tune in and see the introduction of these shiny belts?
