WWE  just announced that NXT will be expanding in Britain with the start of NXT UK and two brand new championships.

Wrestling fans in the United Kingdom will be happy with the latest news to come out of WWE. NXT, the global brand that seeks to shine a light on rising stars within the wrestling promotion, will begin filming their first UK-only show later on this summer. On top of that, two new championships will come along with it.

The news comes straight from the lips of British wrestling legend Johnny Saint, who manages WWE’s UK brand, and WWE Executive VP of Talent, Live events, & Creative, Triple H.

"At the NXT UK Brand you will see the very best of UK wrestling--Not just the men,” said Triple H during the announcement at Royal Albert Hall. “We'll be starting a women's division. We’ll be starting a tag team division."

New belts will naturally be introduced for the band new NXT UK Women’s Championship and the NXT UK Tag Team Championship.

The best part is that NXT UK will be taped over a series of eight live events all beginning later this summer. Starting on July 28 and 29, 2018, at the Corn Exchange, Cambridge, NXT UK then moves on to Birmingham on Aug. 25, and 26, 2018 to do a live taping at Insomnia, UK’s biggest gaming convention.

In October, NXT UK hits up the Plymouth Pavilions in Plymouth for October 14 and 15, 2018, before finally heading to Liverpool for their last tapings on November 24 and 25, 2018, at Liverpool Olympia.

Tickets will be available starting on Friday, June 29, 2018. Tickets for the Cambridge, Plymouth, and Liverpool shows are all available via Live Nation UK, while the Birmingham tickets have to be purchased via the Insomnia convention’s website.

“The U.K. has an amazing talent base and incredibly passionate fans that are deserving of their own showcase,” said Triple H in a prepared statement. “This is the next step in our ongoing strategy to create localized content and further develop our brand globally.”

While a roster hasn't been confirmed, one has to assume the company's UK Division will finally get the spotlight they deserve. Fingers crossed we can see more Pete Dunne and Trent Seven on WWE TV!
