It's no surprise that we've come across countless wrestling couples through the history of WWE. After all, they're traveling the world together year-round, and many of these couples get to spend practically unlimited time together.

Some wrestling couples have been able to keep their relationships strong and healthy over the years, but others experienced bumps in the road which led to them breaking up. Here is a look at five on-screen wrestling relationships that are still going strong, and five that didn't last.

10 Stayed Together: Rusev & Lana

Lana began working as Rusev's manager/ambassador in her early NXT days back in 2016. Together, the duo performed as heel Russian and strong anti-American characters. Their on-screen chemistry was very strong, and it's no wonder that they began a relationship outside of the ring.

The two tied the knot in the summer of 2016, and they're still a happy and powerful wrestling couple. There are rumors that the two could leave WWE, as they're both frustrated with their positions in the company.

9 Broke Up: Triple H & Chyna

Triple H and Chyna began a relationship around the same time as the launch of the Attitude Era. Both "The Game" and Chyna took their careers to new heights around this time, working together in D-Generation X.

The pair seemed destined to stay together, with their relationship approaching five years and the fact that they were meshing nicely on-screen. But apparently, the relationship ended because Triple H wanted to have children, and Chyna didn't share the same desire. The two broke up at the beginning of the 21st century, and Triple H would start a relationship with Stephanie McMahon.

8 Stayed Together: Booker T & Sharmell

Booker T and Sharmell tied the knot in 2005; it was the second marriage for the WWE Hall of Famer. Sharmell had worked in both WCW and WWE before, but she never wound up becoming a full-time wrestler there. She appeared in an angle with her husband and Kurt Angle in 2005, and Sharmell worked as his manager.

The two left WWE together in Oct. 2007, having requested to be let go from their contracts. They spent several years together in TNA, and Sharmell wrestled sporadically as well.

Booker T and Sharmell had twins in 2010, and they're still happily together. The former works as a WWE commentator and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009 - and again in 2019 as part of the "Harlem Heat" tag team with Lash Huffman.

Karen made an on-screen appearance at the 2001 Unforgiven pay-per-view. But we saw the couple on television far more often in TNA - and their marriage was worked into storylines. Karen married Jeff Jarrett, the co-founder of TNA, in 2010, while Angle married his second wife (Giovanna Yannotti) in 2012.

6 Stayed Together: The Miz & Maryse

The Miz and Maryse were together for several years before getting married in 2014. Two years later, WWE began to use them together in storylines - with Maryse assisting her husband in his promos and matches.

Maryse was among the WWE's top female superstars from 2008 to 2010, even winning the Divas Championship twice. She last wrestled on a full-time basis in 2011, but Maryse and her husband have teamed up in a couple of mixed tag matches - at WrestleMania 33 and last year's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

This popular couple has enjoyed five strong years of marriage, and they're expecting their second kid soon. Last year, Miz & Mrs. began airing on the USA Network - and the first season has been completed.

Three years after they got married, Goldust and Terri Runnels began appearing together on WWE television in 1996. Runnels (who adopted the ring name "Marlena") worked as his manager and she even got involved in a feud with Chyna at one point.

Marlena had previously been in a relationship with Brian Pillman, and the two of them were used in a love triangle storyline with Goldust. Marlena and her husband would divorce in 1996; they had one child together. Goldust remarried twice and has been with his current wife for seven years.

Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella began a relationship not long after the former debuted on the main roster in 2010. They got married in 2014, and not long after, WWE began using Brie and Bryan together in storylines.

In one instance, Stephanie McMahon tried putting the couple in a trap by threatening to fire Brie if her husband wouldn't relinquish his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Looking out for Daniel, Brie fired back by announcing her resignation.

The couple have been married for five years now, and their first child was born in 2017. Brie stood by her husband as he trained his way back into the WWE ring in 2018 - two years after he had to retire because of concussions and neck injuries.

3 Broke Up: John Cena & Nikki Bella

The 16-time World Champion and his wife of three years, Elizabeth Huberdeau, divorced in 2012. Afterward, Cena began a relationship with Nikki Bella - and she accepted his proposal at WrestleMania 33.

There were plans for the couple to get married in 2018, but the hearts of wrestling fans broke when the two broke up in April of that year. A report from People suggested that Cena was enduring "cold feet" ahead of their wedding.

Recently, Nikki stated that she still thinks of Cena as her "soulmate." The two have since moved on, and despite hope from the WWE Universe that they would get back together, there aren't indications of it happening.

2 Stayed Together: Triple H & Stephanie McMahon

After Triple H and Chyna ended their relationship, the former began dating the daughter of WWE chairman Vince McMahon - despite an unwritten rule that nobody was to get too close to Stephanie.

WWE began using Triple H and Stephanie together in storylines, and they wound up tying the knot in 2003. This has been an extremely successful marriage that recently reached the 16-year mark. They have three children together, and Triple H is working closely in running the company along with his father-in-law.

1 Broke Up: Lita & Matt Hardy

via youtube.com

Matt Hardy met Lita well before their WWE days back in the late '90s, and she began appearing on-screen with The Hardy Boyz at the turn of the 21st century. It wasn't long until WWE began using their real-life relationship as an on-screen storyline, and they quickly became the ultimate and beloved wrestling power couple.

There was even a strange storyline in 2004 where Hardy tried proposing to Lita, only to be interrupted by Kane. This led to a match at SummerSlam 2004, where the winner would receive her hand in marriage. Kane won the bout and a reluctant Lita was forced to go through with the ceremony.

But in 2005, Hardy went on hiatus - and Lita began a relationship with Edge. A heartbroken Matt revealed their relationship on the internet - which led to his brief departure from the WWE. He was later brought back, and the trio were involved in a love triangle storyline.

Lita and Edge eventually broke up, and she dated CM Punk for several years. Edge wound up marrying former diva Beth Phoenix, while Hardy has been happily married to Reby Sky for six years.
