Brock Lesnar might not be around but that doesn't mean WWE isn't putting Paul Heyman to good use elsewhere.

One of the hottest stories in WWE right now revolves around a man who hasn't appeared in the promotion for two months. We're talking about Brock Lesnar, of course, and what makes his absence even worse is the fact that he is currently WWE's Universal Champion. If all of that wasn't bad enough, The Beast Incarnate showed his face at UFC 226 last weekend, just to twist the knife.

Lesnar's absence obviously means that another man has not been present on Raw lately, the Universal Champion's advocate Paul Heyman. In the past, Heyman has taken on other clients while Lesnar has been away. The likes of Curtis Axel, Cesaro, and most famously CM Punk. There has been talk that he should represent Ronda Rousey in WWE but he doesn't seem interested in that role at present.

It would seem that even though Heyman doesn't want to appear on screen unless it's for Lesnar-related business, he's okay with helping WWE in other ways. According to What Culture, the advocate was listed as a writer on the Raw production sheet this past Monday. More specifically, Heyman played a part in putting together the segment between Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns and was also listed as a "road" writer, meaning he will travel with the company.

If the above is true, and it turns out to be for more than just one show, this could very well be the injection that Raw so desperately needs. WWE's flagship show had its lowest viewership ever this past Monday night. Heyman is a proven wrestling writer though. Anyone who watched SmackDown during the early 2000s will know exactly what to do when Heyman is a part of the booking team.

While Heyman may help out from time to time, it's unlikely that he will be working full time on the writing team with WWE. Even though he appears more often than his client, Brock Lesnar, the advocate still seems to enjoy the part-time role he has nowadays. He has a lot of projects outside of pro wrestling and probably doesn't want to be traveling around the US and the world with WWE too much more than he already does.
