With the news that a WWE PC recruit has tested positive for COVID-19, a wrench has been thrown into WWE production as the company tries to move forward.

As reports Tuesday and Wednesday, WWE was running way behind schedule for television tapings, testing is still being done for Superstars that didn't get a chance to test and until tests that were completed come back negative, talent aren't being allowed into the building.

PW Insider reports that WWE has decided to cancel today’s planned taping of SmackDown. Now they will have to come back on the day of the show next Friday the show will be recorded and edited together hours before it is set to air on FOX. As it now, Raw, Raw Talk, Main Event and two episodes of 205 Live will be taped and they may barely get those ideas tackled.

The scene is not good. Superstars, staff, and executives are simply waiting outside for permission to re-enter the WWE Performance Center. As @WrestleVotes is describing from a source close to the situation who wrote, "How can I put this nicely: a complete, unbelievable, lack of leadership, full blown CLUSTERF-CK. They should be embarrassed. Total clown show."

Could These Delays Last?

The question WWE will need to figure out is how do they proceed from here on in? If limited staff are allowed into the building and WWE has to go back to a skeleton crew to work a number of tapings, what could this mean for the upcoming shows?

Will there be limited talent available? Will things get pushed back? Will fans see more repackaged highlights on the shows to ensure each broadcast runs the alloted amount of time? Or, is this chaos that clears up in the next few hours and WWE can get back to producing shows, just with a little more caution moving forward?
