It's believed that Dominik Mysterio could undergo a heel turn in the coming weeks - at least that's the way PWTorch's Wade Keller sees it.

The younger Mysterio looks to be well on his way to becoming a household name and has been doing a great job since stepping into the spotlight at WWE. The 23-year-old has buried all suggestions of nepotism with a string of praiseworthy performances, with the promotion continuing his push.

Dominik has been a major part of SmackDown since bursting onto the scene, sticking to his father's corner for the most part. The last few weeks have been different, though as the youngster defied Rey Mysterio with a sneak attack on King Corbin earlier this month.

Asked if WWE could be looking to fashion a heel turn for the precocious performer, Keller claimed it certainly looks that way.

'I think they're headed towards Dominik turning heel," he pointed out (H/T Sportskeeda.com). "I've been an advocate for Dominik, getting a push ahead of his tenure and resume and the evidence that he is ready for it, and I think he might end up being a good heel. It does seem like that's where they are going - rebuffing Rey's advice last week and being heelish and attacking Corbin from behind.''

A Heel Turn Could Catapult Dominik's Wrestling Career

The direction WWE takes remains to be seen but it appears they're sowing the seeds of a heel turn by having Dominik openly disobey his father.

A feud between the two would probably not sit well with everyone but we imagine a major section of the WWE Universe would enjoy seeing the younger Mysterio go head to head with the decorated senior figure.

There's quite a lot of potential for a storyline pitting Dominik against Rey. It could be the gig that sees his career really take off, as good as it's been to this point.
