There are rumors WWE is planning on holding another cross-brand draft in the coming months. If so, who will move and will it include stars moving in and out of the NXT brand?

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, speculation is that WWE is reportedly planning another draft between RAW and SmackDown. Reports note that there were as many as "five different dates being considered for the new draft, but it has now been narrowed down to two possible dates in October."

Meltzer also added that there was a chance the draft would actually take place at some point in August, but WWE wound up moving that to September and has pushed things back one more time.  Essentially, the date may still change but WWE is looking to hold a draft and mix up the rosters.

Meltzer didn't clarify if NXT stars would be included but logic suggests that would be the case. Vince McMahon is said to be keen on pushing new stars and that would include introducing Raw and SmackDown fans to NXT talents they may not otherwise know very well. It's a strategy that has worked in the past as the Street Profits were called up to RAW as a part of the last draft and have gone on to become long-standing tag team champions.

This Will Be Different From The Last Draft

At WWE's most recent draft, the company really shook things up. But, that can be explained as SmackDown was moving to FOX and wanted some of their biggest names on the brand. WWE moved over marketable names like The Fiend, Sasha Banks, and Braun Strowman, while moving excellent in-ring competitors to Raw.

This draft should be a little less of an overhaul, but there are always big names shuffled around. One thing for certain, WWE has a tendency to move couples together. Therefore, if any talent moves that has a significant other, they will likely move as well.
