WWE is going all out for the 1000th episode of SmackDown Live and they've given one of the companies more popular Attitude Era stars and WWE Hall of Famer, Edge a specific job.
With the return of Batista as part of Evolution, with Rey Mysterio returning to take on Shinsuke Nakamura, a possible video appearance by the Rock and likely many other surprises set for the show, one had to wonder what WWE had in store for the former Rated-R Superstar. As per a report by WWE.com, the company revealed what Edge will be doing at the historic show. They wrote, "Edge is returning to host a special edition of his talk show “The Cutting Edge” next Tuesday as part of SmackDown’s historic 1000th episode."
They continued to explain how Edge and his show were a big part of the history of the blue brand. "The WWE Hall of Famer was responsible for many of the blue brand’s greatest moments, whether it was stepping up as one of the SmackDown’s premiere Superstars after the initial brand split in 2002, his unforgettable Money in the Bank cash-in on The Undertaker or running roughshod over SmackDown with General Manager Vickie Guerrero in his corner."
The question becomes, who will his guest be? What will he have to say? Will someone like Christian be joining him? Maybe Vicki Guerrero? Will fans get to see the return of another former WWE Superstar that hasn't yet been announced to appear?
The SmackDown 1000 episode will air next Tuesday and while WWE is headed towards Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, it's not likely that Edge will have much to do with that event, but his show will be more geared towards a trip down memory lane. Most fans likely won't mind.
