WWE Reveals Greatest Royal Rumble Championship Belt [Photo]

The first ever 50 man Royal Rumble match took place on Friday night, and before the bout, the prize for winning was revealed.

It's not January, we are not on the Road To WrestleMania, so why on Earth did we just watch a Royal Rumble match? Well, we guess you would have to ask Vince McMahon for the answer to that question. The Royal Rumble match in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia was no normal over the top rope affair either. It was dubbed the Greatest Royal Rumble and featured 50 Superstars as opposed to the traditional 30.

The only thing WWE refrained to tell us before jetting off to the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium is what exactly the 50 Superstars in the match were competing for. A trophy was unveiled beforehand but that hardly seems like enough of a prize. Would there be a title shot like there is for the winner of the regular Royal Rumble?

Well, it turns out that the winner of the match won't need a title shot as they will already have a championship. Right before the match took place on Friday evening, WWE revealed that the victor will be heading back to the United States with not just a trophy, but a brand new championship. As you can see from the tweet the title looks a little like the United Kingdom Championship except it has a green strap and different side plates.

What exactly the role of this new title will be, however, remains unclear. Will the winner of the match wear it all the time and bring it to all of their matches? Plus, can they defend it on a regular basis or will they simply have to pass it on to the next winner of the Greatest Royal Rumble? That's if there ever is another 50 man epic like the one that took place in Jeddah on Friday night.

Judging by everything else that happened at Greatest Royal Rumble, the likelihood is that nothing that took place in the main event will have any effect on anything once WWE arrives back in the United States and resume normal service. It was simply an exhibition show in a foreign country and we will likely see a very similar show this time next year and the year after that due to WWE's new agreement with Saudi Arabia.
