WWE tried to advertise Crown Jewel on the big screen at Evolution and as you might imagine, it did not go down well.

When Stephanie McMah0n revealed to the world that WWE would be staging its first ever all-female PPV, there was naturally quite a bit of excitement. However, another show announcement a little while later tainted it somewhat. WWE revealed that it would be returning to Saudi Arabia for the second time, a country where female wrestlers are not allowed to perform.

What made the announcement even worse was the revelation that Crown Jewel would be taking place just five days after Evolution. That left a bad taste in the mouth of many fans. It almost felt as if WWE was giving fans and its female Superstars Evolution simply to keep them sweet so they could head to Saudi Arabia guilt-free less than a week later.

Since then, the controversy surrounding WWE's deal with Saudi Arabia has intensified. However, the company is pushing ahead with Crown Jewel later this week. WWE has scrubbed any mention of Saudi Arabia from Crown Jewel promotional material, and you'd expect it to have a night off from advertising it at Evolution. Sadly, that was not the case. Despite being a show that women are not allowed to compete on, WWE went ahead and advertised it on a women's only PPV.

According to Cageside Seats, a Crown Jewel advert on the big screen at Evolution was "vehemently booed." So much so that WWE was forced to shut the advert off before it had finished. Unfortunately, that didn't stop them plugging it for fans at home. Michael Cole ran down the Crown Jewel card towards the end of the show. All while he had Renee Young and Beth Phoenix, who won't be allowed on the show, sitting either side of him.

Clearly, when large amounts of money are involved, WWE is blind and deaf to its fanbase. Well, it isn't. The company can hear and see our protests, it just doesn't care. The Undertaker was booed when he mentioned it, and fans react poorly whenever it is shown on the big screen in arenas. All of that and WWE still thought it would be okay to flaunt the show on an all women's PPV. Unbelievable.
