After her loss to Ronda Rousey, Nia Jax went face to face with Becky Lynch and took a punch in the mush as payback for her earlier miscalculation.
It wasn't long ago Jax put Lynch on the shelf when she blasted " The Man" in the face during a brand brawl leading to Lynch missing Survivor Series and her marquee matchup against Rousey. While Lynch had to choose someone else to take her place (she chose Charlotte Flair) Jax became enemy No. 1 to the WWE Universe and targeted Rousey, claiming she was the new resident face breaker in WWE.
On Sunday, at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs, Rousey went one-one-one with Rousey. As many expected, Rousey was able to get past Jax locking in the armbar and taking the submission victory. Feeling defeated, Jax was then seen walking around backstage holding her arm, only to run into Lynch who was backstage as well.
Lynch asked Jax if she remembered when she broke her face? Then before Jax could answer, Lynch delivered a kick to the midsection and then a punch to the face, knocking Jax to the floor. For Lynch, she was making good on her promise to collect debts owed to her and for Jax, it was a bit of payback for causing Lynch to miss the arguably biggest match of her WWE career.
What This Means
Either one of two things will come from this. First, WWE could be setting up a feud between Lynch and Jax now that Lynch is cleared for action. Alternatively, this is the end of the beef between Lynch and Jax and Lynch will move on to bigger and better things.
What could be bigger and better for Lynch? Well, that would be a meeting between "The Man" and the "Baddest Woman on the Planet." It's the match Lynch and Rousey were supposed to have at Survivor Series.
