Nothing reminds us what time of year it is quite like a match-themed WWE PPV. More often than not, if it's TLC, then it is probably December. That was the case this past Sunday night when WWE took over San Jose for an evening of Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. If you looked down the card and saw that there were 12 matches scheduled, we wouldn't blame you for giving the show a miss. That's why we're here. Here are all of the biggest moments from TLC without having to sit through all of the not so big ones.

The first big match and big moment of this year's TLC came when Baron Corbin cockily strode down to the ring. The acting General Manager of Raw had instructed Heath Slater earlier in the evening to count out an absent Braun Strowman, and told Jojo exactly what to say once the non-existent match was over. The only problem with that is Strowman showed up. Since his arm is still not completely recovered, he decided not to come alone. Various Superstars who dared to cross Corbin slowly filled the ringside area and when The Lone Wolf tried to escape, he found that his path was blocked by Kurt Angle. After a sufficient beating comprising of steel chairs and finishers, Strowman pinned the now-former General Manager Elect with one of his massive boots places on his chest.

Nia Jax has been threatening Ronda Rousey with the same fate she bestowed upon Becky Lynch, a broken face. She certainly tried to deliver on that promise too. As good as Rousey is, when she was in UFC, she never had to face someone so much bigger than her inside the octagon. The Rowdy One went into this match at TLC still undefeated in WWE though, and it was extremely unlikely we were going to see that change. Even with Tamina trying to interject herself, Rousey still couldn't be thrown off her game. Before she locked in her patented armbar, Rousey kissed Jax's face-breaking fist and then proceeded to make her tap out.

There's a lot to love about SmackDown Live right now. One of the main things is The New Daniel Bryan. Love might be the wrong word. That's because somehow, Bryan has made a fanbase that once adored him absolutely hate his guts. From cheating to win to abandoning The Yes Movement, Bryan certainly knows how to be a heel in WWE. On Sunday at TLC, he had to find his way past AJ Styles once again. Heel or not, Bryan can't help but put on terrific matches, and when put in the ring with Styles it is going to be a classic. That's what we got on Sunday, and at the other end of it, Bryan was still WWE Champion. Not with a low blow this time, but via a small package.

There was no rivalry more personal on show at TLC on Sunday than the one between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Ambrose turned his back on Rollins the night Roman Reigns announced that he had leukemia. Extremely low, and The Architect has not had the chance to get his hands on his former best friend since. That all changed at TLC of course, but things did not go the way Rollins would have wanted. It was clear to see that both men know each other extremely well. Both men had counters for so many of one another's moves. It was ultimately exactly that which won Ambrose the match, and hence the Intercontinental Title.

Even though there were a few candidates for TLC's main event, there was only ever one match fans were going to be happy to see in the headline slot. Asuka, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair in the first-ever women's TLC match. There will probably be very few people arguing that it shouldn't have been there after watching the match. All three women put themselves and each other through hell for our entertainment. There were multiple times during the match where it seemed as if the competitors were legitimately hurt. It was also impossible to tell who was going to win the match. That was until Rousey stormed to the ring and pushed over a ladder with Flair and Lynch on top of it. That opened the door for Asuka to ascend and win the title. Message sent Ronda, but do you realize what you've done?
