A new rumor regarding the future of Zelina Vega suggests she might show up in AEW and make significant waves upon arrival.

It has now been more than 90 days since Thea Trinidad, formerly WWE's Zelina Vega, was released from her WWE contract. That means Trinidad is now free to appear and wrestle for other promotions. Aside from her continued work on Twitch, which is likely what caused the rift between her and WWE, there has been no official word on where Trinidad might land next, if anywhere.

Since there has been talk that Trinidad was earning more through sites like Twitch than she was via her wrestling contract, she might opt to not sign anywhere. However, Planeta Wrestling appears to be under the impression Trinidad is on the verge of signing with AEW. In fact, it has speculated that a deal has already been struck between the two companies.

Trinidad was the one who originally sparked rumors she might well be AEW-bound just last week. The former WWE Superstar tweeted "today is going to be a good day". Possibly nothing more than a throwaway tweet. However, some fans noticed it was the exact same thing Kenta tweeted before he made a surprise appearance on Dynamite and attacked Jon Moxley.

If AEW has picked up Trinidad, the rumored reason she is yet to debut is related to an existing tag team on the roster. The Inner Circle's Santana and Ortiz. Chris Jericho's faction appears to be in the process of shattering into a million pieces. Once that happens, it's possible Trinidad swoops in and manages the team formerly known as LAX. She may even contribute to the pair departing The Inner Circle.

This is all nothing more than rumor and speculation at the moment, of course. Trinidad may not return to wrestling at all. If she does opt to stay away, it would be a real shame. Not only was Trinidad a terrific manager in WWE, but she was getting the chance to show off what she can do in the ring towards the end of her run. Hopefully, the rumors are true, as she would be a very welcome addition to AEW's women's division.
