Nikki Cross has a message for WWE fans who criticized her Nikki A.S.H. gimmick during the short time period in which she got a run in the company as an almost-superhero. A cartoonish character that admitted she didn't actually have special powers, she felt like she did based upon her positive attitude and the character had a small run as a multiple-time champion before WWE abandoned the gimmick and brought her back as a crazed and off-her-rocker star in the women's division. The costume designer (Rob Downie) who helped her make that costume posted a comment on Twitter about fans taking aim at him for helping design the outfit and then said he wasn't surprised because it was Twitter, after all. He noted, "I've answered this already, but a few wrestling fans also got overly mad at me for helping Nikki Cross pitch her "almost superhero" gimmick, just because they didn't like it. It is Twitter, to be fair, so I wasn't shocked, really." Cross responded, "They might not have liked it, but I loved my MITB Win, my Raw Women’s Championship run and history-making 3 time Tag Team Championships# reign (1st woman to do so) and multiple wins as 24/7 champ. I had convos with kids who adored it, dressed up like me and it warmed my heart."

Cross had a lot of fun with the character and it was popular. Unfortunately, the gimmick had a short shelf life and when Triple H took over creatively, it didn't take long for him to switch things up. Now, Cross is getting a new kind of push and she actually dumped the 24/7 title in the trash and is part of Damage CTRL's team at Survivor Series.
