NXT has undergone plenty of changes as of late, but the focus for the company remains the same thing which is to produce the wrestlers for the future. Those who are part of WWE's developmental brand are supposed to be the next big names on Raw and SmackDown, and that is what they're working hard to try and prove.

Right now there is a lot of great in-ring talent with some serious chemistry on the NXT roster, but that doesn't mean their current gimmicks are guaranteed to work on the main roster. Some are ready to go immediately, but others would require a few tweaks, even though the wrestlers are good enough.

10 Ready: Bron Breakker

bron breakker

Bron Breakker brings a legitimate presence to the ring whenever he appears due to the power and intensity that he does everything with. There is a reason why Breakker has been the NXT Champion for such a long time, because the company sees huge potential in him as a performer.

Breakker has made huge improvements inside the ring over a short period, and his matches are always a lot of fun to watch. On the microphone, he has plenty of confidence, and it is clear the main roster is in his future, with no tweaking needed to his current character to make that work.

9 Needs Change: Hank Walker

Hank Walker NXT

Hank Walker has proven to be popular with the NXT fans as of late, but if he was to join the main roster then his character would need to undergo a major shift. Hank played a security guard that originally appeared in backstage segments throughout episodes of NXT, which is where he started making comments to others.

This then transitioned into him getting in-ring opportunities with the idea that he is the 'every man' who fans can relate with. While that is certainly the case, it isn't the type of character that would work on the main roster, especially since fans will have already missed that key part of the journey.

8 Ready: Axiom

Axiom in WWE

Masked wrestlers always have a place in professional wrestling as they provide something different from everyone else on the roster with their speed and agility. That is something that Axiom has in spades, and right now there is a real gap in the market for that on the main roster.

He brings a genuine superhero-style gimmick to the ring, with his unique entrance making it look like he moves at the speed of light. He has personality as well, which helps, and Axiom's in-ring performances have shown that he is ready to make the move when called upon.

7 Needs Change: Joe Coffey

joe-coffey-nxt-uk

Joe Coffey has been on the WWE roster for several years now as an original from the NXT UK era, but so far there has been little change in the gimmick that he is pushing. Coffey works as a thug, a bully, someone who hits first and thinks later, and while that works to a degree, it is limited.

The fact he is the leader of Gallus could help his cause, as there is always a need for factions to be used in WWE. However, if Coffey wants to make it to the main roster, then adding a few more layers to his character would help.

6 Ready: Grayson Waller

Grayson Waller

Grayson Waller is not the most technically gifted member of the NXT roster, but what he lacks in wrestling skills he more than makes up for with his personality and charisma. Waller can perform inside the ring, and he is more than capable of piecing together an enjoyable match, but that side of his game is likely going to grow.

However, WWE will be looking carefully at the character he brings to television, and that is a polished one that feels ready for the main roster already. Waller knows how to rile up a crowd and frustrate them, and getting a reaction is the key, which he could take to Raw or SmackDown immediately.

5 Needs Change: Wes Lee

Wes Lee in WWE

Wes Lee was put into a difficult position in WWE when his former tag team partner was released from the company due to issues outside the ring. While that was the right call for the company, it did put Lee in an awkward position of transitioning to be a singles star overnight.

That's a switch that Lee is still finding his feet with, and at the moment he is looking to find a defined gimmick that will help him connect with fans to kick on and move up the ladder outside of just putting on good matches.

4 Ready: Pretty Deadly

Pretty Deadly as champions Cropped

Pretty Deadly dominated during their time in NXT UK, and it is no surprise to see they are enjoying the same levels of success as part of the American brand. They are a great tag team inside the ring, putting on great matches whenever they are given the chance, which is an important factor.

But it is their characters that drive them forwards, as they rely upon their looks to build a ton of arrogance. That works out well for them as they always get reactions from a crowd, and the charisma that they have together makes their promos engaging to watch.

3 Needs Change: Andre Chase

Andre Chase Cropped

Andre Chase is a good talker, and someone who can put together an entertaining match when given the chance. However, the character that he portrays could do with some tweaks as it feels like something that belonged in NXT 2.0 when WWE was throwing things at the wall.

The idea that he can teach others is something that could easily work, but it could do with being made a little more serious and less cartoonish for it to connect with fans on the main roster.

2 Ready: Toxic Attraction

Toxic Attraction Titles NXT Halloween Havoc 2021

Toxic Attraction has been a stable that has been well built up throughout their time in NXT, with the three women having dominated everyone in their way. Mandy Rose has been able to appear like a genuine star with her overall presentation, with NXT pushing her looks while she's backed it up with enjoyable matches inside the ring.

Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne have been just as important as a tag team because they consistently work hard to try and cheat to help Rose. Their presentation as a group has been superb, and there's no doubt they could slot straight onto the main roster right now.

1 Needs Change: Roderick Strong

Roderick Strong WWE

There is no doubt that Roderick Strong is one of the best wrestlers in NXT right now inside the ring. He's a veteran of the business, and if brought to the main roster he would create some fantastic encounters with the talent available, but his character still needs to be tweaked.

Since his time with the Undisputed Era came to an end, something has been missing for the former North American Champion. Even with the Diamond Mine faction working underneath him, Strong just hasn't quite worked as of yet.
