Pat McAfee has disclosed that he won't be part of the commentary panel for the upcoming Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia but insists he's happy not to be going.

The show, which takes place on October 21, will be the WWE's first Saudi show for this year and the first since February 2020. It will present fans with some huge matches, with WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns going up against the returned Brock Lesnar while Becky Lynch will be defending the SmackDown Women's Championship against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks.

McAfee, who calls SmackDown matches, has said he wasn't asked to go and is happy not to be a part of it during his The Pat McAfee Show (H/T Fightful). He would also poke fun at wrestlers getting stuck in Saudi Arabia two years ago.

Tongue In Cheek

"Nope (not invited to Crown Jewel). They're heading over there. I wasn't invited," he said. "Good luck. I'm not supposed to be part of that, I'm happy I'm not going or whatever. The show, everyone says it's insane over there. It's awesome. Until they get stuck there and then I gotta call Buffalo SmackDown."

SmackDown is scheduled to take place just a day removed from Crown Jewel, which is probably why McAfee isn't going. WWE will be hoping that the events of 2019 will not be repeated as NXT stars were called on to save the day the last time main card wrestlers got held over in the Middle East.
