It's certainly not a guarantee, but there could be plans for WWE to move both Pete Dunne and Tomasso Ciampa to the main roster. Both wrestled matches for Main Event ahead of Monday's Raw and this is typically a sign that WWE is thinking about debuting someone -- usually a performer from the NXT roster-- who is on their way to either Raw or SmackDown.

While this could just be temporary and something set to coincide with the Royal Rumble, this would be an exciting development for both men. Ciampa recently lost his NXT Championship to Bron Breakker but showed up and defeated T-Bar in a Main Event match. Meanwhile, Dunne wrestled a match against Akira Tozawa, who was later used in a backstage segment featuring the 24/7 Championship. Neither NXT star appeared on Raw but both men also wrestled each other in a dark match prior to last Friday's SmackDown.

We'll see if this leads to anything for Ciampa or Dunne in terms of vignettes that either are coming or if they'll be part of this year's 30-Man Rumble match. Being on Main Event doesn't necessarily equate to being moved to Monday or Friday, especially when you consider talents like Veer have been wrestling on Main Event frequently and his promoted debut has lasted well over three months now.

So too, let's hope this is not an omen for either man. Wrestlers like Karrion Kross, and Bronson Reed were featured on Main Event and both were released recently.

Change of Heart For Ciampa?

There was a time where Ciampa had absolutely no desire to jump the main roster from NXT. He noted that he bled black and gold. Of course, NXT is no longer the black and gold brand and is now NXT 2.0 with many of the old names having moved on or been released. Perhaps he's changed his tune.
