A new photo shows Edge and Brock Lesnar enjoying a conversation before last Saturday's action-filled SummerSlam 2022 pay-per-view.
The recently-released image shows the two all-time greats speaking ahead of the event that took place inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Lesnar starred in the main event against Roman Reigns, losing to his longtime rival in a Last Man Standing match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Edge didn't wrestle at the event, but he made a thrilling return by going after former Judgment Day allies in Finn Balor and Damian Priest. The Ultimate Opportunist helped Rey and Dominik Mysterio defeat Balor and Priest in their tag team match by attacking the men who kicked him out of the stable on the June 5 Raw show.
With Triple H and The Undertaker retired from in-ring competition, Edge and Lesnar are among the very few big-named part-time stars left in the company. WWE still uses the two aplenty for major programs and pay-per-views, so perhaps we'll see one or both of them at the upcoming Clash at the Castle show (Sept. 3 in Cardiff, Wales).
Excluding Royal Rumble matches, Edge and Lesnar last squared off at the Rebellion 2002 pay-per-view. There, Lesnar and Paul Heyman defeated The Rated-R Superstar in a WWE Championship handicap match.
What's Next For Edge & Brock Lesnar?
It's unclear what WWE will do next with Lesnar. The SummerSlam bout with Reigns was billed as the final match between the longtime rivals, so Lesnar will be out of the world title scene for the time being. For what it's worth, WWE is advertising him for the Day 1 2023 pay-per-view that will run on Jan. 1 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Regarding The Ultimate Opportunist, he promised to finish The Judgment Day on this week's episode of WWE Raw. So there's a high chance that this feud will at least continue into Clash at the Castle.
