Based on what played out at WWE Crown Jewel last week, it certainly doesn't look like the feud between Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar will end any time soon.

Lashley thoroughly dominated Lesnar in their Crown Jewel match, but the latter was able to catch The Almighty off guard for a surprising albeit controversial pinfall victory. Lashley, who won the first meeting against Lesnar at Royal Rumble 2022, seemingly turned heel after the match by attacking his rival. With the head-to-head series tied 1-1, it only makes sense for WWE to continue this feud. Perhaps we'll even get a rematch at WWE's next pay-per-view, Survivor Series WarGames, which will run on Nov. 26.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Dave Meltzer wrote that with Lashley applying the Hurt Lock on Lesnar after the Crown Jewel bout, their feud "should continue with Lashley as a heel."

Lashley received boos from the crowd following his attack on The Beast Incarnate, and WWE has been pushing Lesnar as a babyface since he returned (after a hiatus that lasted over a year) at SummerSlam 2021. Plus, Lashley was the heel for their aforementioned Royal Rumble match, and Lesnar was the babyface.

Brock Lesnar Bobby Lashley Crown Jewel

Lesnar and Lashley met for the first time at Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship. Roman Reigns, Lesnar's main rival at the time, interfered and attacked him during the match. Lashley went on to defeat Lesnar to become the champion, though the latter won the men's Royal Rumble bout later that evening.

Lashley and Lesnar were among the participants in the Elimination Chamber showdown for the WWE Championship. The Almighty left the match with a storyline injury, and Lesnar went on to win the WWE Championship. He would then face Reigns in a "Winner Takes All" showdown at WrestleMania 38, which The Tribal Chief won.

Lesnar vs. Lashley Is The Ideal Mid-Card Feud

With Roman Reigns carrying both the WWE and Universal Championships, WWE has to do something else with Lesnar and Lashley. Though they're in the mid-card scene right now, a Lashley-Lesnar program is certainly main-event caliber in its own way. Fans waited so long for these two superstars to square off, and we're overdue for an even match with a fair finish. Let's hope WWE books this feud accordingly the rest of the way.
