Cody Rhodes likely won't be out of the wrestling spotlight for long.AEW President and CEO Tony Khan announced on Tuesday that Cody and Brandi Rhodes have left the company. Aside from wrestling, Cody also worked as an AEW executive vice president, and Brandi served as the company's Chief Brand Officer.It has since been reported by various outlets that Cody will soon return to the WWE, where he began his professional wrestling career. The son of the late Hall of Famer, Dusty Rhodes, left the WWE in May 2016 after requesting and receiving his release.Sources confirmed to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated that Cody will indeed return to the WWE. Barrasso was also told that Brandi "is not expected to join" Cody in WWE.
