Seth Rollins was widely considered the favorite to emerge victorious in the men's Money in the Bank ladder match at Saturday's pay-per-view, but it was Theory who instead got his hands on the briefcase.

Having lost out on the opportunity to become Mr. Money in the Bank, it looks like Rollins will be out of the main event picture for the next little while. He defeated Ezekiel via pinfall on this week's episode of WWE Raw, but The Visionary was hit with a surprise RKO by Riddle after the match. Riddle's attack on Rollins provided fans with a hint on another potential SummerSlam match.

Speaking on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News), Dave Meltzer reported that Rollins vs. Riddle appears to be the plan for SummerSlam, which will run inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee on July 30. Meltzer said the match is "probable" for SummerSlam, and that Rollins vs. Riddle is the scheduled main event "at most of the house shows too, going forward."

The three confirmed matches so far for SummerSlam 2022 are: Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing bout for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, Bobby Lashley vs. Theory for the United States Championship and Happy Corbin vs. SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee.

Interestingly, Theory told Lashley on this week's episode of Raw that he plans to cash in his Money in the Bank contract against the winner of the Reigns-Lesnar bout. Will he actually follow through with that, and if he does, will Theory emerge victorious? It certainly adds more intrigue to the buildup of the main event.

Rollins vs. Riddle Would Be An Epic SummerSlam Match

Not only are Rollins and Riddle among WWE's elite in-ring workers, but The Architect is flourishing as a merciless and unforgiving mid-card heel. Riddle has held his own as an entertaining babyface without tag team partner Randy Orton, and a match with Rollins would go a long way in increasing his character momentum. SummerSlam is the ideal stage for a match between these two stars, and it would certainly have the potential to be one of the best wrestling matches of 2022.
