It's unknown what the future holds for Universal Champion Brock Lesnar in the WWE, but a return to the UFC appears to be inevitable.

TMZ Sports caught up with UFC President Dana White, who confirmed Lesnar's contract with the WWE ends this summer. On top of that, White said Lesnar "wants to fight" in UFC again, and he's confident that the two parties "will end up getting that figured out."

Though Lesnar signed a new contract with the WWE in April, the deal is only short-term. Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reported last week that Lesnar is expected to drop his Universal Championship by SummerSlam "at the latest." Barrasso noted that Lesnar is paid per fight, and losing the title "could signal the end of his time in WWE."

Lesnar turns 41 in July, but The Beast Incarnate remains in peak condition and continues to dazzle with his athletic in-ring abilities. His last fight in the octagon took place at UFC 200, where Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt in a unanimous decision. However, the victory was overturned when he tested positive for taking clomiphene.

Prior to that, Lesnar's last fight in UFC took place on Dec. 30 2011 (UFC 141), where he lost to Alistair Overeem in just 2:26. Lesnar announced his retirement from MMA following the loss, and he'd return to the WWE a few months later.

Lesnar has been a major money maker for both the WWE and UFC. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously reported that his new contract allows Lesnar to fight for both companies, too.

A return to the UFC seems like a guarantee at this point for Lesnar. The only question now is if he'll be staying on with the WWE, or if the future Hall of Famer will leave the promotion for good when his contract runs up.
