Eric Bischoff says he would love to return to WWE but would prefer to do so in a specific role; he wants to return as a manager.

Bischoff was a guest on Sky Sports' Lock Up podcast to discuss a variety of topics. After talking about his 83 Weeks podcast, his climb in WCW to become president of the company and his time in WWE as General Manager of Raw, he was asked if he would ever consider a return to WWE. He replied,  "I'd love to do it if it was a situation that would work for everybody."

Bischoff hasn't been a regular character in WWE for over 13 years. But, as he continues to work on wrestling projects and his name becomes more popular with the success of his podcast, fans would likely welcome him back. But, he's not interested in coming back just to do the same thing he'd done in the past. He feels that storyline and character would get old fairly quickly.

"I think my opinion, you know, a character like mine [as] a General Manager, there's only so much you can do from a storytelling point of view," he said.  He added, "I'm not a wrestler, especially in this stage of my life, I'm not gonna get physically involved in matches." So what's left for him to do? Bischoff says he would like to be a manager in WWE.

Specifically, Bischoff would like to mentor someone who could benefit from his ability to talk and communicate with the WWE Universe. To his credit, Bischoff does have pretty good mic skills. He said he'd prefer to help a "young talent that doesn't quite have the mic skills or seasoning."

Bischoff says he sees the idea of being a manager as a challenge and that it could be fun but he doesn't have anyone in mind. Could it work in WWE? It's not an unheard of idea, especially with Paul Heyman very popular in that particular role and WWE potentially looking at bringing back more male managers.
