Following another embarrassing loss at Fenway Park on Sunday afternoon, Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman was critical of his performance, but also ripped his own team during a tense post-game interview with reporters.

According to Steve Buffery of the Toronto Sun, Stroman called the team "f—— terrible," and snapped at a reporter, who questioned him about his brief class-A career for the Vancouver Canadians.

The 27-year-old Stroman took to Twitter to detail his side of the story, while apologizing for his outburst and citing that it was simply frustration.

It's been a frustrating year for Stroman, who's coming off the best season of his career. After voicing his frustration about the salary arbitration hearing in the offseason, Stroman has struggled to show why he's worth more.

On Sunday, Stroman lasted just five innings and allowed three earned runs. The Blue Jays played miserable defence - which hurt them all series - and could only provide the pitching with two runs. Toronto had a prime chance to take three of four on the road against the best team in baseball, but they gifted the Boston Red Sox three victories instead.

Stroman moves to a horrid 2-7 on the season with a 5.86 ERA. Kevin Pillar and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. have hit the DL, and things couldn't look any more bleak for the Blue Jays as they enter the All-Star break.

The Blue Jays had high hopes to return to the playoffs in 2018, hoping that a healthy roster and formidable rotation would get them there. But team MVP Josh Donaldson and perennial All-Star Troy Tulowitzki can't stay healthy, closer Roberto Osuna has been suspended for a domestic violence case, and the entire roster has simply failed to perform up to its usual standards.

Toronto now sits at 43-52, and their chances of making the playoffs are virtually zero. It's expected that they'll be sellers at the upcoming non-waiver trade deadline, as the front office tries to bring in more youthful talent.

It's been a miserable year for the Blue Jays, and Stroman finally had enough and had to let it out. We'll see if this team can have a strong finish to 2018.
